Latest NZIA Award - Auckland Architecture Heritage Category

We are very proud of our latest award in the 2009 Auckland Architecture Heritage Category. This was given to us for our involvement with The Old Devonport Post Office Building. This was an 18 month project which included procuring local council and NZ Historic Places Trust consents, implementation of design enhancement to both original and modern (1992) rear additions and liaison with the contractor and owner throughout.

Lime Week

Salmond Reed Architects are preparing a Lime day seminar for the end of March. The aim of the day is to present a morning seminar giving the basis theory and outline of history of its use in NZ and then followed after lunch on-site demonstrations including practical opportunities to see and work with lime materials.

Picture of the Month

One of Aucklands oldest houses

This months picture shows the re-roofing of one of the oldest houses in Auckland City which has been added to over a number of years. The earliest part on the right hand side was constructed in 1857 while the front and left hand side were constructed in the 1860s & 1890s respectively.
